He's Australian, He Can Sing in Five Languages, He's Italian and He's Hilarious: Emmy-Nominated Performer ALFIO brings Powerhouse Voice and Disarming Stage Presence to the U.S. with Emmy-Nominated PBS Concert Special and Live Shows Celebrating the Music of Elvis, Sinatra & Bocelli.
Australian singer ALFIO is the consummate entertainer, able to dazzle an audience with his powerhouse voice, disarm a crowd with his combination of Australian charm and Italian flair, breathe new life into the seminal music of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli, and write/perform his own tunes.
ALFIO evokes a mash-up of aforementioned Bocelli, Tom Jones and Michael Bublé . He sings in five languages, and also does something few, if any other artists can do: perform an Aria while accompanying himself on piano. In his recent EMMY-Nominated PBS concert special, he delivers the goods [WATCH]
An Italian crooner with an Australian accent tends to catch his audience off guard...in the best possible way. ALFIO deftly balances a nostalgic repertoire of beloved, familiar tunes with his original songs, and in between, he draws his fans into hysterics, not via jokes but more due to his natural, charming Australian-Italian demeanor.
ALFIO's original songs are often the ones most requested by his audience. Some examples include "Il Nostro Sogno (Our Dream)", a song about the wish for world peace. The track has also been recorded and released by other artists around the world. This hit single pushed his debut album on Warner Music to Top 10 and Gold status in Australia. "Voce Pura/Pavarotti" is his loving tribute to Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, which was written after a dinner they had together in Sydney, sent to Pavarotti before his death. Another fan favorite is the title track of his recent album "After Love", which could be as at home on the pop charts as in the context of the traditional Italian repertoire of love and loss.
More about ALFIO:
Beloved around the world for his modern interpretations of English and international standards, classic takes on contemporary chart-toppers, and original compositions that bridge musical genres, Australian-Italian powerhouse vocalist ALFIO brings a new approach to the tenor tradition (though he jokingly refers to himself as a 'nine-and-a-halfer'). Joining the illustrious ranks of world-famous performs such as Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Buble on U.S. public television/PBS, ALFIO's primetime live TV Concert special 'ALFIO IN CONCERT', has been viewed by over 100 million people across the United States. During his time in the U.S. last year, ALFIO created history as the first Australian-Italian to have a National TV concert on PBS as well as the first Australian to sing the U.S. National Anthem at the historic Madison Square Garden. He recently released "ALFIO In Concert" on CD, which reached #8 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Charts. He also completed a successful national concert in major U.S. markets during the Fall 2015.
